METRONET: Construction to start on the Morley-Ellenbrook Line in 2019

Now that we have a Labor government in WA we can start a whole new chapter on the promises that will benefit the Swan Valley and surrounding areas. Let’s start with METRONET as reported on our new Premier’s website:-

Six new METRONET stations will be built at Morley, Noranda, Malaga, Bennett Springs, Whiteman Park and Ellenbrook. Whiteman Park has recently been named Western Australia’s top tourist attraction.

  • Construction on the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line will commence in 2019;
  • The 21km spur line includes six new METRONET stations and is expected to be completed in 2022;
  • WA Labor will bring a fresh approach to transport in the north-eastern suburbs, creating 3,072 jobs;
  • The $863million rail line will service more than 200,000 local residents by 2026;
  • METRONET will create more than 10,400 jobs and apprenticeships.
